Travel Arrangements

• If the School of Mathematics is paying for your travel, and Tech has a contract rate with your city of origin, you have the option of having the airfare direct billed to Tech using Travel Inc.  An advantage is that the ticket can be changed or cancelled with no penalty.  To use Travel Inc, call  them toll free at 877-548-2996 to make the reservation.  Tell them that it will be a "non-employee travel authorization."  We need to send some paperwork for the direct billing, so let us know once the reservation is made.
  

After You've Arrived

• Welcome to Atlanta!

• To get in from the airport (ATL), you can take a cab or the MARTA light rail.  Cab is simplest for late arrivals, and costs about $40.  MARTA avoids traffic and is a convenient, inexpensive alternative.  More information is here.
  

• To take MARTA in from the airport, walk to the MARTA station at the west end of Terminal T.  Buy a ticket ($1.75) and get on any train.  You'll be heading north on the North/South line.  Either the North Avenue stop (N3) or the Midtown stop (N4) are convenient for Tech.  You can find maps, station addresses, and more information here.

• The School of Mathematics is in the Skiles Building at 686 Cherry Street.  It is the square donut (building 2) on the campus map.  To get to Skiles from the intersection of North Avenue and Highway I85, walk west on North Avenue past the huge Bobby Dodd football stadium; turn right on Cherry Street and walk into campus about 2 blocks; Skiles is on your left.  More detail here.
  

• One nearby option for dinner is Baraonda (pizza, pasta).  You can find other restaurants by walking north on Peachtree Street.
