DEGREE PROGRAMS
COURSES |
Travel RequestThere is a limited amount of money to support travel of Ph.D. students to professional Conferences and the like. This support is restricted to students in the Ph.D. programs in ACO, Mathematics, or BioInformatics, who are housed in Mathematics. No support is available for Master students, or Ph.D. students housed in other Department, no matter what degree they are pursuing or who is their advisor. Please download and print the Travel Request Form. Fill in this form, and return it to the Graduate Coordinator. Your request will be screened by the Graduate Committee, which will review requests at least twice a year (Spring and Fall). Please refrain from making last minute requests and plan accordingly. Please keep in mind that, even if your request is reviewed favorably, presently support has a cap of $300.00 and that repeated requests from a student will have lower priority. Progress towards your degree, as well as giving a talk, are all relevant factors in allocating resources. Remember that you should explore all available sources of funding. Perhaps your Ph.D. advisor has some funds that can be used for your travel, or a specific program (e.g., ACO) may have available funds. Also, there is a Graduate Conference Fund at Georgia Tech, as well as the College of Sciences Fund. For these, see the link www.cyberbuzz.gatech.edu/sga/grad/gcf/conference.html Finally, remember that you will need to fill in the Travel Authority Request Form. This is especially important if you are a TA, since you will need to tell us who will take care of your teaching duties. The Travel Authority Request must be completed on line through the CoS Finance website. Follow these instructions for completing your Travel Authority. |
