Honors Mathematics Courses
2009-2010 Academic Year

School of Mathematics has 6 honors courses. (We do not offer honors courses in the summer semester.)

MATH 1511, Honors Calculus I (checked projected schedule).

You must have Math SAT score of 600 or higher, or a B in Math 1113.

MATH 1512, Honors Calculus II (usually offered in the fall).

We will have two sections - Section HP for students in the Honors Program only and non-HP section(s) for new freshmen with Calculus AP score of BC 5.

Current students must have B or higher in MATH 1501 to take this course. A current student must e-mail Math FASET Information to apply for the non-HP section(s). A new freshman not in the Honors Program with a Calculus AP score of BC 5 will received an e-mail invitation to apply for non-HP section(s) before the semester starts.

MATH 2411, Honors Calculus III (usually offered in the spring).

You must have a B or higher in Math 1502 or Math 1512 to be enrolled in this course. If you are in Math 1502 or Math 1512 in the fall term, you may register for this course during Phase I of registration. During the semester break, we will drop any students in 2411 (the spring term) who make C, D, or F in 1502 or 1512.

MATH 2413, Honors Differential Equations (check projected schedule).

You must have a B or higher in MATH 2401, MATH 2411, or MATH 2605 to take this course.

MATH 3022, Honors Applied Combinatorics (ckeck projected schedule).

You must have B or higher in MATH 1502, MATH 1512, or MATH 1522 to be enrolled in this course.

MATH 3225, Honors Probability and Statistics (usually offered in the fall).

You must have B or higher in MATH 2401, MATH 2411, or MATH 2605 to be enrolled in this course. If you are in one of the above courses in the spring or summer term, you may register for MATH 3225 during Phase I of registration. In early August, we will drop any students in 3225 (the fall term) who make C, D, or F in 2401, 2411, or 2605 in the spring or summer term.
