Math Lab
The Math Lab opens one week after classes begin and closes the Thursday before finals begin in the fall and spring semesters. Summer semester days and hours will vary. The School of Mathematics offers free tutorial help in the Math Lab for the following courses: 1113, 1501, 1502, 1522, 1711, 1712, 2401, 2403, 2406, 2602, 2605, and 2804. Math Lab is staffed by graduate and undergraduate teaching assistants.

Location and Hours: The Math Lab is located in Clough Commons, Room 278. The spring hours are: Mondays, 12-5 PM; Tuesdays, 11 AM-5 PM; Wednesdays, 12-5 PM, and Thursdays, 11 AM-5 PM.

Computing Lab
The School of Mathematics' Linux Computing Lab is open to students to work on projects in mathematics. The available software includes Mathematica Version 4.0, Maple V Release 4, and Matlab Version 5.3.0.10183 (R11), and StarOffice. The Linux Computing Lab is open to students enrolled in mathematics courses to work on projects, homework, etc. The available software includes recent versions of Mathematica, Maple, Matlab, a wide variety of specialized software for mathematics research, office productivity applications, technical typing tools, a full programming and development platform, and, of course, full featured web and email clients. The Lab has 20 PC's running a current version of Linux. The PC's are provided by Student Technology Fee funds, and are powered by two dual core AMD Opteron 265 CPUs running at 1.8 GHz. Each system has 4 Gb of RAM, and is connected to a 19" Samsung LCD monitor. The lab includes a duplex printer. Computing Lab is located in Skiles Building, Room 001. The lab is available to math majors and students taking math courses and is Buzz Card accessible. If your Buzz card does not work see Jan Lewis in Skiles 117C to have her add you to the Buzz card list to open the door.
