Professor Howie Weiss has been awarded a three-year, $1.38M grant from Boeing to study the transmission of infectious diseases on aircraft. Howie and collaborators at Emory University and Delta Airlines will document patterns of passenger movement inside aircraft cabins and inventory the microbes present in cabin air and on surfaces. Howie says that "the ultimate goal of this project is to reduce the transmission of infectious diseases on aircraft." See the Tech News Room article for complete details..
