Aims and Scope

The School of Mathematics, ECE Center for Signal and Image Process-ing at Georgia Tech, and the Pattern Theory Group at Brown , are sponsoring a conference on multiresolution techniques in imaging and the statistics of natural images. This conference is designed to bring together engineers and mathematicians interested in the latest develop-ments in the application of the techniques of multiresolution analysis and statistics to the analysis of images. This conference is partially supported by the Southeast Applied Analysis Center and NSF. This conference is part of SAAC's focused year on analysis.

Topics

  • Theory of wavelets and filter banks
  • Analysis/synthesis filter design methods
  • Multidimensional filter bank design
  • Statistical models of images
  • Applications of wavelets and filter banks to problems in image analysis:
    • Image denoising and deblocking
    • Interpolation and reconstruction
    • Image and spatio-temporal segmentation
