Area of Research Applied Mathematics, Numerical Methods, Fluid Dynamics, Particulate Suspensions
Degree Ph.D. 1998, Princeton University

Current research interests:

My Primary Research Focus is in the study and simulation of microscopic and macroscopic models of interacting particle systems, particularly those with direct physical applications, including neutrally-buoyant and sedimenting suspensions, granular particles, colloidal systems, and evolving networks. Since the general theme of my research is in seeking simplified or reduced models to determine the properties of or make meaningful visualizations of various physical phenomena, it shouldn't be a surprise that I tried to simplify the research statement into one cute blurb; but as with most reductions, some detailed information can be lost in the process (and sometimes one is interested in the details).
