The program is flexible with regard to student background and the particular choice of courses to satisfy the requirements. It is important that the prospective student's background include

  1. a multivariate calculus course,
  2. a calculus based probability course,
  3. a linear algebra course,
  4. familiarity with some computer programming language.

Students in the program can be admitted to any school on campus after meeting the criteria for admission into that school, but most have been in Mathematics or Industrial and Systems Engineering. Prospective students for admission into the School of Mathematics are required to submit their GRE scores. While admissions decisions are not based on any single item, recently admitted students to the School of Mathematics have had grade point averages of at least 3.2 and GRE scores above the levels: GREV 510, GREQ 750, GREA 700.

Questions about the program may be directed to Professor Vladimir Koltchinskii through e-mail at vlad@math.gatech.edu or by telephone at (404) 894-2718.
