I graduated with a Ph.D. in
mathematics from
Berkeley,
and happily spent four years in the Champaign-Urbana cornfields as a
UIUC undergraduate.
In retrospect, it seems significant that I was a
biology major my first two years of college,
but finished with a degree in
mathematics.
Similarly, the fact that my research interests lie at the intersection
of the mathematical, computational, and biological sciences might be
surmized from my postgraduate institutional affiliations.
Prior to my
BWF CASI award,
I was a postdoc in
computational biology at
Madison
and in
theoretical computer science and
bioinformatics at
UBC.
