We are anticipating the visit of Harrie Willems who will present the movie he co-authored
with Agnes Handwerk entitled: "Wolfgang Doeblin - a mathematician rediscovered"
on Thursday the 3rd of April
at 5:00 pm in the Clary Theater of the Bill Moore Student Success Center
The documentary tells the story of the mathematician Wolfgang Döblin and his famous
manuscript
"On Kolmogorov's equation", which was hidden for 60 years and finally opened
in May 2000.
This first movie will be followed on Friday the 4th of April by a second
one during the Stochastics Seminar,
in Skiles
249 at 4:00pm. In this second 30 minutes show, Marc Yor explains, on the blackboard,
the mathematical content of Döblin's manuscript.
Here is a poster for the presentation.
