• The common syllabus has been amended in Section 7.3.1 (on how Midterm 3, Quiz 4 and the final will work). Please review the changes carefully.


• Course schedule has been adjusted.


• Exploration quizzes will be in MyMathLab. They will help you prepare for the T/F portion of the final. To study for Exploration Quizzes look for practice problems in Canvas Announcements. For example, see the announcement "How to study for Exploration Quiz 9 in MML". You get unlimited attempts, which with multiple choice problems means that will eventually get a perfect score. However, guessing won't help you to prepare for tests, which is the whole point. Solve the practice problems first and then do the quiz.


• Studios and TA's office hours can be accessed in BlueJeans tab in Canvas. TA's Studios are recorded. Office hours are not.


• Netiquette: In all communication in this online course, you will need to follow the same rules of behavior as you would in a face-to-face course when communicating with the other students and the instructor. In particular, negative personal comments are strictly prohibited, and you need to turn off your microphone and web cam when appropriate. On the other hand, the instructor welcomes feedback via email or Piazza.

Exploration Quizzes (6% of the total grade):

• A few homework problems will be assigned weekly (usually on Monday) via the assignments tab of the password-protected Canvas page.
• This homework won't be graded or collected.
• Every Tuesday of the following week there will be a 5 minute quiz at the start of the studio. The quiz will consist of one randomly chosen problem taken from the homework assigned the previous week. Thus students will have 7 days to prepare for the quiz.
• The quizzes will be graded by the TA and normally returned before the next quiz.
• 3 lowest exploration quiz grades will be dropped. The rest will count for 6% of the grade as exploration.
