Images of Undergraduates, and their Research
The images are taken from Jeremy Corbett's Summer 2003 REU in pattern formation in non--linear pde's. Pattern formation is something evident at the beach, when you look at the waves on the sandy floor. They are a halmark of non-equilibrium physics. And Jeremy Corbett's REU concerned at it's root, the underlying mathematical reason for the formation of these patterns.

This work work was done under the direction Professor Mason Porter and Shui--Nee Chow. These two also directed an REU for A. Behram, a high school student. Mr Corbett's report is availible, as is that of Mr Behram's, and a report on all REU activity at Georgia Tech is too.
