About Me

I joined the School of Mathematics faculty at Georgia Institute of Technology in 1999, serving primarily as their Director of Information Technology (IT).

In 2005, I began spending a fraction of my time in the Dean’s Office in the College of Sciences as the College IT Director, and in 2015, I expanded my effort there, taking on the role of Assistant Dean of IT for the College of Sciences.

In 2017, a portion of my responsibilities shifted to the office of the Executive Vice President for Research where I was the Associate Vice President for Research Computing until my retirement in 2023. I am currently an emeritus faculty member in the School of Mathematics.

I grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico and got a BS with a double major in Mathematics and Computer Science from New Mexico Tech in 1982.  I continued my education with a Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana in 1987.   I did a postdoc at the University of California, Riverside and then moved on to become a tenured professor at the University of New Orleans before coming to Georgia Tech in 1999.
