Three hour tests: February 4, March 17 (tentative), April 14 (tentative).

Grading: Hour tests (30%) + Homework (30%) + Final exam (40%)

Computer: The word "programming" in the title of this course is a historical accident; this is not a computer programming course. It is a mathematics course. This means that the emphasis will be on the understanding of underlying concepts and algorithms.

The topics to be covered include most of the material in the Chvatal book.

The first test will be based primarily on chapters 1-5.
